The Development Portfolio of our business includes MSME specific interventions. We currently lead the Kaduna MSME Sustainability Programme, with that engagement, we serve as a technical partner to Kaduna Enterprise Development Agency – the implementing Agency for the MSME Intervention programmes in the state and of the Kaduna-World Bank NG Cares Programme.
Supporting the Agency, we’ve led the development of the Kaduna Digital Enterprise Platform (KADDEP) – (please see www.kadeda.kdsg.gov.ng and dev.kaddep.com) in collaboration with Sterling Bank and Riby Finance.
This platform (KADDEP), already approved by World Bank for the NG Cares Programme will revolutionize MSME access to Finance in the state, permitting transparent post-Covid 19 grant services in the state. The programme is scheduled to begin implementation in September 2021 with impact projection of at least 12,000 MSMEs. Our work in the state has culminated in the establishment of an MoU with a commercial bank to provide Common Facility Centre financing for MSMEs, with 2 projects – a garment cluster and an MSME spice cluster project currently in the works. These 2 projects will impact a total of 100 MSMEs in the next 6 months, with an annual productivity increment of 300 Million Naira. We expect that 10 other clusters will benefit in the next 12 months.
We’ve also been approved to lead MSME Cluster Development Interventions with SMEDAN, this is pending contractual agreement.
We understand the competitiveness challenges facing Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Nigeria – which is occasioned largely by the small firm size and limited management capacity of the enterprises- hence, we have designed a model for identifying and resolving the unique competitiveness challenges of MSMEs across various Nigerian industries using a Cluster Development approach that focuses on MSME shared Asset Financing
At Octoville, we deliver insightful professional and management services to public and private sector stakeholders involved in the process of developing and implementing MSME cluster intervention.
