Common Facility Centres (CFCs) can be defined as physical facilities which are made available to a group of similar businesses in a cluster, to help the individual businesses increase their competitiveness.

  • CFCs include all joint-action projects delivered under a group management structure, such as:
  • Group Production/Processing Facilities
  • Group Procurement and Distribution Facilities
  • Group Training Facilities
  • Group Marketing Facilities and
  • Group Quality Inspection Facilities.

CFCs increase competitiveness in the following ways:

1.Increased Competitiveness through increase in bargaining power and reduced operational cost.

2.Increased Quality through the provision of Access to better infrastructure/equipment.

3.Increased market intelligence through improved organization.

We support policy makers, financial institutions, development partners and business member organisations, to implement cluster diagnostic studies, design Common Facility Centre interventions and manage their interventions.

We currently lead these efforts with Kaduna State Government and have been approved to do same at a national level with SMEDAN.
